Mr. Chow Lap San Edward is a practicing barrister, Greater Bay Area Lawyer, arbitrator and mediator. He graduated from the Faculty of Law, the University of Hong Kong, Masters of Laws in Arbitration and Dispute Resolution and Corporate Financial Law.

His main areas of practice in Hong Kong include arbitration law, company law, commercial law, securities law, trust law, land law, tenancy law, wills and probate, contract law, tort law, personal injury law, administrative law and immigration, criminal law.

He is currently an arbitrator at the Hong Kong International Arbitration Center, the Shanghai International Arbitration Center, and the Langfang Arbitration Commission.

He was appointed as a sole arbitrator, and has handled cases before the Swiss Arbitration Commission. He also delivered lecture on Hong Kong international arbitration for East China University of Political Science and Law in Shanghai and Shantou University.

His cases include land law: Lee Siu Man v Chu Chi Wing HCMP 91/1992; trust law: Sun Shu Di v Tam Fung Di, CACV 187/2013, and company law: Raymond Yue as executor of the estate of Yue Kwok Ying v Take Skill Limited, HCMP230/2014.

In public service, he has served as adjudicator of the Registration of Persons Tribunal, Chairman of the Appeal Tribunal (Buildings), member of the Inland Revenue Board of Review, member of the Greater China Affairs Committee of the Hong Kong Bar Association and member of the Arbitration Sub-Committee of the International Chamber of Commerce, and in 2015, as Branch Secretary of the East Asia Branch, Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.

He serves as arbitrator for the Williem C Vis International Commercial Arbitration Competition in Vienna, Hong Kong, Beijing, Shanghai, Malaysia, and India, a judge in mooting competition for University of Hong Kong, the Chinese University of Hong Kong and the City University of Hong Kong.

He has assisted the Hong Kong Bar Association and the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators in providing legal education courses in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan.

He published articles on Hong Kong Arbitration Law in "Hong Kong Lawyer" and "Shanghai Lawyer" and is the author of Chapter 3 of the "Foreign-Related Legal Practice Tutorial", a textbook for Chinese higher legal education.
